The summer tables are full of colors and delicious aromas. The tomato, in its many varieties, is the hero of the hot season. It is so versatile that it can be consumed in many ways, all delicious and beneficial for our body.
The properties of the tomato are known and in this site, in recipes and other sections, I focused on their many properties, including the vitamins of group B, C, D, A and lycopene, scientifically proven to be a particularly effective antitumor .
In my summer garden, tomatoes are grown in large quantities and they satisfy not only the family needs but also that of friends. This is why, given their quantity, I also like to use them for DIY cosmetics.
Here five tips for using these delicious fruits (yes, they contain seeds and, in botany, they are called fruits) for skin masks and more.
The juice of four or five ripe tomatoes is ideal for making hair strong and luminous. Apply the juice to damp hair and leave for twenty minutes before shampooing.
Face mask for enlarged pores:
Natural astringents, tomatoes are allies of oily and mixed skin. For the dilated pores, simply squash a medium-sized tomato in the bowl (failing, use a handful of cherry tomatoes) with the avocado pulp and lemon juice. Apply to dry and clean skin for about 10-15 minutes. This mask is also suitable as a lightening bland for dark spots.
After-sun face mask:
To soothe reddened skin after exposure to the sun, it is sufficient to prepare an emulsion with the juice of two large tomatoes (or a handful of cherries or datterino) and two tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil. Apply the mask on the skin and leave for at least 15 minutes before rinsing.
Nourishing face mask:
The pulp of a crushed tomato and two tablespoons of apples nourish the skin, moisturizing it in depth. Mix the two ingredients and leave to stir for 15 minutes before rinsing.
Refreshing facial tonic:
Cut a not too ripe tomato into two parts and rub a slice on cheeks, nose, chin and forehead. Leave for one minute and rinse with warm water. An effective idea in the absence of the tonic that you use for daily cleaning.
