All the benefits and properties of grapes

September is the month of grapes and harvest, a month of celebration for children who are lucky enough to experience the magic time of the harvest.

In Italy, grapes are one of the fruits par excellence that gives life to excellent qualities of wine, known and appreciated worldwide.

Table grapes, of which Italy is the world’s leading producer (Sicily and Puglia are the regions in which it is grown), is different from wine grapes. The grapes that we find at the market or from the greengrocer, usually, is for food use.

This fruit has many beneficial properties and, when in season, it should be consumed often.

Grapes have revitalizing properties for the skin, so much so that the cosmetics use it. Its benefits are contained in the peel, rich in antioxidants. Grapes are useful also in case of constipation and circulatory problems and are rich in mineral salts, such as zinc, potassium, magnesium, iron, and vitamins of group B, A and C. The presence in the resveratrol skin makes it ideal for fluidizing the blood.

The grapes are excellent for those suffering from rheumatic and joint pains,  and recommended during periods of psycho-physical stress, convalescence, pregnancy and lactation. The consumption of grapes is also good for those suffering from constipation, obesity, hypertension and eczematous.

From the nutritional point of view, there is no difference between white and red grapes. Red grapes are richer in iron and antioxidants. White grapes have a greater diuretic effect. The grape contains a good amount of quercetin, a flavonoid that is a source of energy, indicated for those suffering from exhaustion.

Such a precious fruit is indicated almost for everyone. Given the high concentration of sugars is not suitable for diabetics.
